Corrections Policy
When we get something wrong, we correct it openly.
Dial & Crown checks references, dates, figures, quotations and attributions against primary sources before publication. Even so, errors can reach the page, and when they do, this policy governs what happens next.
How to report an error
You can also reach the editorial desk through our Contact page. Reports from readers, makers and the trade receive the same attention.
What we correct
We correct substantive factual errors: wrong names, references, calibres, dates, places, figures, quotations, attributions and materially misleading descriptions. The article is corrected promptly, and a dated correction note is added at its foot describing what changed. Minor typographical errors are fixed without a note.
What we do not rewrite
A correction fixes the record; it does not renegotiate an article's conclusions. If new information materially changes a story, we update the article and note the update with its date. If a story's foundations prove unsound, we retract it with an explanation rather than quietly editing it away.
Corrections log
No corrections have been issued to date. When corrections are made, they are noted on the affected articles as described above.
