Respect for copyright
Dial & Crown respects the intellectual property rights of photographers, writers, publishers and other creators. We publish editorial photographs under license, under press-use arrangements with the rights holder, or under applicable copyright exceptions such as fair use. Photo credits appear with the image and identify the credited rights holder.
How to report alleged infringement
If you believe that content on dialandcrown.com infringes your copyright, please send us a notice that includes:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed (or a representative list of works).
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, including the specific page URL and a description of the material.
- Your name, address, telephone number and email address so we can reach you.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Send the notice through the Legal enquiry category on our Contact page, which reaches the editorial desk directly.
What happens next
We review every complete notice promptly. If the claim is well founded, we remove or disable access to the material, record the removal, and, where a story references the material, publish a correction noting what changed. We may also remove material in response to a valid court order or a substantiated complaint from a rights holder.
Counter-notice
If material you supplied or posted was removed after a notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or that the material is lawful, you may send a counter-notice through the same Contact page channel, with the Legal category selected. A counter-notice should include: identification of the removed material and its former location, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address, telephone number and email address, a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the courts where you are located (or the applicable courts if you are outside the United States), and your physical or electronic signature. If we do not receive a valid counter-notice, the removal stands.
Repeat infringers
Accounts or contributors who repeatedly publish infringing material lose publishing privileges. Dial & Crown has no user accounts at launch; this provision applies to any contributor access created in the future.
